FAQ:

Why do I have to run The Sims Online in Windows mode?

Due to a bug in The Sims Online game, we have no choice but to limit our program to work under the windows version only.  When you switch to windows in the non windows version, your sim game will automatically start scrolling from time to time.  In windows mode this behavior has never been reported.

Where can I find Windows Mode?

When you install The Sims Online in it's standard path, you can find it by clicking on Start - Program Files - Maxis - The Sims Online.  Here you will see 3 different ways to start up The Sims Online game.   Make sure you select: "The Sims Online (windows mode)".  More information can be found below on how to start up multiple copies of The Sims Online in windows mode on the SAME computer.

How can you run 2 (or more) accounts on one machine?

In Order to do this, you need to create 2 shortcuts on your desktop. Simply right-click on your desktop, select New, then Shortcut and enter the following info exactly as written below:

Account1:
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOPatch\TSO.exe" -w
AccountX:
"C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims Online\TSOClient\TSOClient.exe" -w

The "-w" option will force The Sims Online to run in "windows mode"

You must start account 1 first, then account X (as many times as needed)

Subject: sims online crap

first you want to go to your start menu and find The Sims Online (windows mode).  Right click on that and choose 'copy shortcut'.  Then go to your desktop and right click on it and 'paste shortcut'.  Paste your shortcut twice.

You want to keep one of those pasted icons untouched.  Pick one of them and right click on it and choose 'properties'.  Change the words "TSOPatch\TSO.exe"  to "TSOClient\TSOClient.exe"  in the target line.  do the same in the start in line.  Make sure you type them just like I said because they are case sensitive.  The Run line should say "normal window"  Then click Apply and Ok.

WHen You start the sims make sure you run the untouched icon first, and log in.  Then use the second one that you changed to log your second sim on.

Hope it works for you..

the one on the left is the 1st unchanged icon and the one on the right is the one I changed.  you need one of each.. the one on the left is the one that you would run first..
